Premiere: Collard Blesses us With a New Wavey E.P.
London's own TBAC rapper, Collard brings us a new 4 track EP, Clean Break.
A former affiliate of London art collective Last Night in Paris, Collard is releasing his free debut EP on SoundCloud on the 5th September. Collard is making a breakthrough in rap with solo efforts.
The London rapper has gone for a very laid-back, relaxed R&B vibe on Clean Break with wavy melodies and 'trippy' music production by the one and only Zach Nahome. The production suits Collard's well-known deep husky voice giving it a slow summer vibe. "It's a new sound I'm trying" Collard states.
The EP gives a feel that Collard took a quick break over summer by the beach-side and now he's back to work! The experimentation of this new relaxed sound highly differentiates from previous songs like TIOTE with fellow TBAC (The British Are Coming) rapper Danny Seth, where Collard's verse is cold and raw. Clean Break has the slow synth beats where Collard's tone fits right in.
With the EP releasing when Summer is over, you might think the summer vibes are not there but you can listen here and see if you get the blues!
